Puppy Love Pics! 26 Days Old

Puppy Love Pics from Lani. As you can see, they are getting bigger -- and more fun -- every day! 10 out of 11 are now reserved -- so if you were thinking about getting one, better act fast!

We've been having fun with them as we are home this week for spring break.  Some of our friends went to Palm Springs for the break, so we decided we are having "Puppy Springs" here for the break.  It's a toasty 78-80 degrees here (the perfect puppy temp for their early weeks) so we can hang out in our shorts and t-shirts too!

For those following along about their development and health -- they got their first de-worming a couple of days ago and will do this again in two weeks (and have their first shots about that time too).  We started supplementing all of them with goat's milk and they absolutely love it!  Friends at an all-natural pet foods store suggested that this is much better than the cow milk based products that we've gotten in the past at other pet stores.  In just a couple more days they will be four weeks old and we'll start putting out dishes of liquid and food for them to transition to.  And also at four weeks should be a good time to do a feature on each individual puppy.  Stay tuned!

National Puppy Day pics and video!

Our puppies are now a couple of days over three weeks old and yesterday on "National Puppy Day" we took some pics and video.  They are starting to play with each other and move around quite a bit.  They do respond now to some sounds and will follow you with their head if you walk by (although I suspect they are still not seeing clearly, but that will come).   Also you can see their coat colors starting to show more; you can see more variation in some of the lighter colored ones. Another thing you can see now is that they are all wearing a different color of velcro color. This makes it easier to keep track of who's who!

Also, we now have received deposits/reservations for ten of our eleven puppies. So. . . if you were thinking about getting one, don't wait any longer!  And we're home all this next week -- the lives of teachers on spring break -- so it's a great time to come visit!

Sleeping in their usual puppy pile!

Then awake to nurse. Kitchen's open!

Now a little play time. . .

They like to wrestle and paw each other.

And sometimes a little playful biting is in order too!

Here's a little video of them walking around and playing a bit.

Puppy Pics and Video - 17 Days Old Now!

Here is a short video of the puppies when they're seventeen days old.

And here are a bunch of pics!  You can see how much they have grown the last few days.  And they are starting to move around a lot more. Eyes are all open, but they can't really focus well yet.  Ears aren't really open, but a few seem to react to some loud sounds like when Molly or Jasmine bark.

10 Days Old!

Our puppies are ten days old now!  It's amazing to watch how they seem to grow bigger right in front of your eyes!  Most are about double their birth weight by now and all are gaining weight daily. It will be exciting in the next few days as their eyes and ears open up!  At that point we'll move them from this pool into a kennel area we have set up in our dining room (yes, they are the center of attention for the next couple of months!).

As mentioned on our last post, we are taking deposits for a puppy and will add each person in the order the deposit is received.  It is probably best to wait to pick your actual puppy until they are at least five or six weeks old; by then you can really see more of their color, coat quality, and personality.  If you would like to come visit the puppies, just check with us to set up a time.
You can text or call Dan at 503-927-2210 or Lani at 503-927-2211.  Thanks!

Here are a couple pics of the puppy pile this morning.  They just love to bunch up and snuggle together!

And here are a few more individual pics Lani took last night.  You can see more of their faces and features here.

How to Reserve a Puppy

Want to Reserve a Puppy? -- Update 3/27 ALL are now taken.

We are getting lots of interest in these puppies and many are asking if they are available and how to reserve one.  Here's what we will do:
To secure one of these puppies, let us know by filling out and sending us a "Puppy Reservation Form" and placing a $100 deposit.  This will put you in line for one of the puppies.  We will place you on the list and those at the top of the list will choose their puppy first.  Often, families like to come visit the puppies in person before choosing which one they will take home.  If you have a strong preference for a male or female, or for a certain coat color, or such -- we will try to honor that as much as possible.

UPDATE on 3/18/2018: After this weekend we now have deposits/reservations on nine out of the twelve puppies. So three more are still available! We have had lots of interest and visitors, so don't wait long if you're hoping to get one of these.

If you have further questions or would like to just talk more about getting one of the puppies, contact me at rdandalzell@gmail.com or 503-927-2210. You can mail a form and deposit to:
Dan Dalzell
862 SW Mawrcrest Dr.
Gresham, OR 97080

I can only post a jpg of the Puppy Reservation Form here, but contact me to send you a pdf by email.

First Vet Visit!

It's always a good idea to do a wellness check with a new litter of puppies (and for the mom too!), so we took them in to our vet, mthoodpetmedical.com, yesterday.  Just going with twelve puppies and Jasmine is a bit of an adventure!  We put all the puppies in a basket with a nice, soft towel and they actually seemed to like being all snuggled up together.

They were a hit at the vet! All the staff seemed to want a peek at the whole bunch of tiny pups!

The important thing is: all the puppies and Jasmine are doing great and are in good health!  The vet checks each puppy for cleft palate, heart murmurs, hernias, and general health and vitality.  They also feel each tummy to see if it's nice and full, meaning they are nursing well.  And of course they weigh each one (something we also do daily to make sure each one is gaining weight as they should).

All the puppies checked out just great.  No irregularities or concerns.  And Jasmine is really well too! We will begin deworming at four weeks and their first shots at six weeks, so for the next few weeks we'll just monitor them at home to make sure all are healthy and growing as they should.

Here are some pics from the vet visit:

Puppies! Puppies! And MORE Puppies!

Jasmine gave birth to TWELVE puppies on Feb. 28!  We were amazed by how many she had and love the variety of colors too!  Even with so many pups, there was no real runt and all are doing well.

We have ten boys and just two girls, with seven lighter colored pups and five dark ones.  The colors and coat qualities (curly, wavy, straight, etc.) will become more apparent over the next few weeks and we'll keep posting pictures regularly.

Jasmine is doing great!  She obviously had a LONG day yesterday, but was a trooper and did a great job cleaning up all her puppies, comforting them, and nursing them. With such a large litter, we will closely monitor each puppy for growth and vigor and we've begun supplementing them a little bit with some puppy formula.  The whole litter (and momma) will go to the vet tomorrow for a first wellness check, but all are doing great at this time.

Here are a few pics of Jasmine and all the puppies!
