Female Puppy - "Korra" - Already taken

This is the biggest of our girl pups and we call her "Cora" (and her new family liked it but changed the spelling to "Korra"). She is really dark black and is developing a very soft, wavy coat.

She weighed 13 oz at birth; 1 lb 7 oz. at 1-week-old; 2 lbs 8 oz. at 2-weeks-old; and 3 lbs 6.5 oz. at 3-weeks old; 4 lbs 13 oz at 4-weeks-old, 6 lbs 10 oz at 5-weeks-old, and now 8 lbs 7.5 oz at 6-weeks old. She is developing really well!  She is probably the most athletic girl puppy and loves to play with her siblings or be held by her people friends!

Asking Price: $750

Status: Went to her new home in west Gresham on 3/16/2015

3-Week Old Trip to Vet & 1st Day Eating Puppy Food

Yesterday all the pups had their 3-week-old check in at the Vet.  We had fun and lots of admirers as we moved the ten puppies in two baskets!  Everyone got an exam and their first de-worming meds.  The Vet decided we should give the two smallest some extra vitamins just to make sure they are getting everything they need.  She also said they seemed pretty much ready for transitioning to puppy food and formula, so today we did a mix of formula and warmed & softened puppy food.  It was a hit!

Here are a few pics from the vet visit and eating today:

Video of the Puppies -- Almost 3 Weeks Old

Here's a little video clip of the puppies this morning -- almost three weeks old now!

If you are interested in a puppy, it is OK now to come visit them.  Give me a call or text to set up a time: 503-927-2210.  We have taken deposits on three puppies already and have another one going to a family member, so there are still six available!

Meet the Puppies' Parents! -- Jasmine

Jasmine, our four and a half year old F1b labradoodle, is the mother of all these little pups!

Jasmine was born on 9/5/2010 and was a pup in a litter from our F1 girl, Molly.  She usually weighs about 50 lbs (she was 47 at the vet right after birth, but she had just lost a lot of puppy weight!).  She stands 23" tall at the shoulders.  Complete info on her lineage is posted in the posts from back when she was born, but her daddy was a 65 lb standard poodle named Casper and our Molly is about 49 lbs and 22" at the shoulders.

Here is Jasmine at about 5-6 weeks old with one of her siblings:
And here she is at about 1 1/2 years old
And at 2 1/2 years old
And here she is when her puppies were about 10 days old

Jasmine has a great demeanor.  She is a little reserved, but playful.  She absolutely loves to go for a walk or run!  Like most labradoodles, she LOVES people.  She always wants to rest or lay right next to you (or even better is to have her head across your feet, legs, or arm!).  She will sit, lay down, roll over, or "sit pretty" on command.  She has a really nice, soft, curly coat with virtually no shedding.

This is Jasmine's first litter and she has been a good momma!  She does all the nursing, licking them, and keeping the kennel area clean.  Just now as her pupps are about 3 weeks old, she is showing some signs of not wanting to nurse them quite as often and we'll probably start transitioning to some liquid formula and then softened food as the puppies get a little bigger.

Meet the Puppies' Parents! -- Zander

The stud dog for this litter is a great dog from Clatskanie, OR named Zander.  Here is what is owner says about him:

Zander is well educated, having completed 3 courses of obedience classes from puppy, intermediate, to advanced, and graduated at the top of the class each time, He is a big teachers' pet and would mooch off of the instructor for more yummy puppy treats.
LOVES children, if he had it his way he would smooch them all day.
He's an athletic soul, excellent jumper, superb runner, and avid swimmer. He is a ideal candidate for agility courses, or dock jumping.
His best friend is a troublesome little cat who never listens to him. Zander loves to play 'pranks' on the cat -- stealing his toys and hiding them in his bed, eating his lunch, sleeping on his bed, pushing him off my bed, using his bed as a towel after a long run out in the rain.
He LOVES his toys, but only when he can brag about them in front of his canine friends. He prefers to squeak them to death vs. dissecting them.
Some of his favorite things to do to pass the time are long walks on the beach, bouncing on the couch, road trips (everywhere), whispering sweet nothings 'into' peoples ears, or scaring the mailman by pretending he's Cujo. He will do everything (all at once) for a 'Puppy Treat'.
He's a highly intelligent dog and will figure things out at breakneck speed (hard to believe a dog could be that smart!).  He also doesnt know he's a Labradoodle, as he loves to try to 'herd' cows like a cattle dog although he still has a hard time trying to get the cow to listen to him.

Some of the thing he knows: Sit, Down, All the way down, Roll over, Get up, friends (shake paw) Give me me the drugs (give both paws), Sit pretty, Show me his 'pee-pee', Wait, Stay, Turn in a circle to the left, and to the right, Find his orange tennis ball, find his 'octobear' toy, Touch (with his nose) Go touch, Go get the cow (an actual cow), Go to bed, Get in the car, Get out of the car (on command), Stand up on his back legs to give kisses, Heel, Back-up, and his favorite, bounce backward on the leash because walking normally is too mainstream.

Zander is a medium/large dog:
Height:---- 25in at the shoulder
Weight: -- 59.8lbs
_____Hugo (Poodle) DOB unknown (approx 4-6 years)
                       |          45lbs        23in
Zander (F1b)---
   (6-8-12)
                       |_____ Cocoa (F1 Labradoodle)   DOB unknown  (approx 4-6 years)
                                 41lbs         21in

Here are some fun pics of Zander!  He gets to play outside a lot in Clatskanie.

Puppies Are In Their Kennel Now

All the puppies are doing well!  After spending their first ten days in our basement in a kiddie pool covered with blankets, they started opening their eyes and getting more mobile, so. . . time to put together and relocate them to a kennel.  We cleared our dining room out so that they could be on the main floor of our house and so they will be right by the sliding door to the backyard (for a few weeks down the road when we start taking them out to get used to going outside).

We've been tracking their weight and monitoring all of them and all are growing and progressing just fine.  There were some real concerns during the first couple days because the runt (we call "Tiny") nearly shut down and we weren't sure he'd make it.  A trip to the vet -- where they injected him with electrolytes and he perked up -- led us to start tube feeding him every two hours.  It was a little concerning for a couple more days, but then he really started gaining weight and is one of the more active pups.  He's a spunky little fighter!

I will do an individual post on each puppy next weekend when they are about three weeks old.  Since they're all black, it's still hard to differentiate which one is which (although our secret is that we put a different color nail polish on each one's back toes).

Several people have inquired about purchasing a puppy and what the prices will be.  We have taken deposits for three puppies already, but it is still kind of hard to tell much about the individual dogs and their coat (curly, wavy, straight, etc.) or demeanor.  Let us know if you are interested though and we are happy to set up a visit.  In past litters we've had, puppies that are similar to these have sold for around $700-$800, so we'll probably be in that range again.

Here are a few more pics today:

Jasmine's Puppies are here!

Jasmine had her puppies today -- 10 nice puppies; four girls and six boys.  They are all black or mostly black (some bits of pink or white on a few toes or noses).

Here are some pics of the whole litter on their first day:

We took Jasmine and all the pups to the Vet this afternoon and they all checked out great!  We will follow up with Vet visits at 3 and 6 weeks (deworming and shots along the way).

Watch for posts about each individual puppy in a couple of weeks.  If you are interested in one for your family, let us know!

New Labradoodle Puppies coming soon!

Our girl, Jasmine, is about a week from her due date for her first litter of puppies!  She is an F1b mix and was crossed with another F1b name Zander (from Clatskanie).  We'll be adding lots of info soon about Jasmine, Zander, and the new puppies once they arrive.

Stay in touch if you are looking for a labrdoodle puppy.  These should be ready for going to new homes about March 1st.
