Puppies Are In Their Kennel Now

All the puppies are doing well!  After spending their first ten days in our basement in a kiddie pool covered with blankets, they started opening their eyes and getting more mobile, so. . . time to put together and relocate them to a kennel.  We cleared our dining room out so that they could be on the main floor of our house and so they will be right by the sliding door to the backyard (for a few weeks down the road when we start taking them out to get used to going outside).

We've been tracking their weight and monitoring all of them and all are growing and progressing just fine.  There were some real concerns during the first couple days because the runt (we call "Tiny") nearly shut down and we weren't sure he'd make it.  A trip to the vet -- where they injected him with electrolytes and he perked up -- led us to start tube feeding him every two hours.  It was a little concerning for a couple more days, but then he really started gaining weight and is one of the more active pups.  He's a spunky little fighter!

I will do an individual post on each puppy next weekend when they are about three weeks old.  Since they're all black, it's still hard to differentiate which one is which (although our secret is that we put a different color nail polish on each one's back toes).

Several people have inquired about purchasing a puppy and what the prices will be.  We have taken deposits for three puppies already, but it is still kind of hard to tell much about the individual dogs and their coat (curly, wavy, straight, etc.) or demeanor.  Let us know if you are interested though and we are happy to set up a visit.  In past litters we've had, puppies that are similar to these have sold for around $700-$800, so we'll probably be in that range again.

Here are a few more pics today:
